ADHD & Autism Assessment (Adult Only)

The Full Story

This option is suited to individuals wanting a detailed report or formal documentation. Due to the high rate of co-occurrence, both ADHD and autism are screened for during the assessment process. This is included in both packages and I am unable to separate them in my process. What’s included?

  • A full diagnostic assessment and comprehensive report (typically 30+ pages) outlining the assessment process, where the diagnostic criteria has been met, and a summary of results for each assessment tools used. This report is presented in clear, easy to understand language and includes brief recommendations unique to the individual.

  • The assessment process:

    • Diagnostic interview (up to 3 hours) - this is a collaborative conversation where we explore your history, challenges, and strengths. This will include your developmental history, social communication style, interests, sensory profile, executive functioning, and current experience.

    • Feedback session (50 minutes) - this is scheduled roughly 6 weeks after your diagnostic interview. I will explain your report and answer any questions you might have.

  • Time spent by me preparing, scoring, interpreting, and writing

Assessment bookings are typically made 1-3 months in advance, which allows plenty of time for you to complete the intake documents and for me to review them. All intake documents must be returned at least 2 weeks prior to your appointment.

Please note: When booking this assessment option, $2000 is due at the time of booking. The remaining $500 is due when scheduling your feedback session.

Assessment FAQs

Can your report be used to apply for NDIS funding?
Unfortunately, my report alone is typically not sufficient. Whilst the report I provide is of a high standard, the NDIS considers a range of additional factors when determining eligibility for funding. Often NDIS are seeking information around an individuals ‘functional capacity’ which is a separate style of report which I am unable to provide.

Can I get a rebate on my assessment from Medicare or private health?
Medicare and private health do not provide rebates for assessment sessions.

I have questions about my assessment but didn't choose the comprehensive option - what do I do?
In some cases, I may be able to provide clarity via email or a quick phone call (10 minutes). However, if your questions require a more in depth, you can reach out to request a 50-minute appointment with me. This appointment is charged at my usual rate of $225.

What is the difference between an assessment with a psychologist vs psychiatrist?
Both a psychologist and psychiatrist can provide assessment and diagnosis for Autism and ADHD. However, a psychologist cannot provide access to medication. If you are seeking medication following an ADHD diagnosis, you will need to consult with a psychiatrist.

I’m not sure if I’m “autistic enough” or “ADHD enough” to seek an assessment.
You don’t need to meet a threshold to deserve answers. Many adults — particularly women, and those who masked well through school — were missed precisely because they didn't fit the textbook picture. If you're curious, that's enough of a reason to reach out.
