The who, the why, and the how of it all
I’m Ashleigh, a registered psychologist who is passionate about providing a space that makes having hard conversations feel easier, welcomes self-exploration without judgement and meets you where you are. Therapy only works if you can feel safe enough to be authentic and open, and I hope to give you that space. I don’t take myself too seriously, bringing an honest and down-to-earth vibe to our sessions.
Aside from all the useful psychology knowledge I’ve gained over the years - I get it. I’ve been where you are, wanting to understand myself better. Why I am the way I am, why I do the things I do, why I can’t stop doing the unhelpful shit that I do, why I can’t stick to things I want to do... I won’t pretend to have all the answers, but I will support you as we go on the journey together to finding them.
From my lived experience as a late-diagnosed ADHDer and Autistic, I’m passionate about supporting other late-diagnosed adults. A late-diagnosis can offer great relief but can also bring with it feelings of grief and overwhelm. I support individuals navigating burnout, masking, identity changes and life after diagnosis.
I also work with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, relationship difficulties, grief and trauma. My approach draws from a number of evidence-based therapies, including: Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Schema Therapy and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy.
